โครงการจักรยานสีขาว KU White Bike Project

มหาวิทยาลัยเกษตรศาสตร์ ได้มีนโยบายในการรณรงค์ให้นิสิต และบุคลากร ใช้จักรยานเป็นพาหนะในการสัญจรไปมา
ภายในมหาวิทยาลัย และรณรงค์ให้นิสิตและบุคลากรมีจิตส�านึกร่วมในการอนุรักษ์สิ่งแวดล้อม รวมทั้งยังเป็นการเสริมสร้าง
เอกลักษณ์ที่ดีงามของมหาวิทยาลัยที่ด�ารงไว้มาเป็นเวลาอันยาวนาน ในปีการศึกษา 2543 วิทยาเขตเฉลิมพระเกียรติ จังหวัด
สกลนคร ได้ริเริ่มโครงการจักรยานสีขาวขึ้น ภายใต้กองทุนจักรยานสีขาว ซึ่งได้รับการสนับสนุนงบประมาณจากมหาวิทยาลัย
เกษตรศาสตร์ ชาวจังหวัดสกลนคร นิสิตเก่าและผู้มีจิตศรัทธาจัดหาจักรยานสีขาวให้นิสิตใช้ ท�าให้การใช้จักรยานสีขาวจึงเป็น
วัฒนธรรมของวิทยาเขตที่สืบต่อกันมา จนกระทั่งในปีการศึกษา 2552 มหาวิทยาลัยเกษตรศาสตร์ ได้จัดตั้งโครงการจักรยาน
KU Green Campus and Healthy Community ขึ้น โดยสนับสนุนงบประมาณร่วมกับมูลนิธิสวิตาจัดสรรจักรยานให้กับ
ทุกวิทยาเขต ตามปริมาณความจ�าเป็น ส�าหรับวิทยาเขตเฉลิมพระเกียรติ จังหวัดสกลนคร ได้รับการจัดสรรจักรยานทั้งสิ้น
1,000 คัน ซึ่งนับว่าเพียงพอส�าหรับการให้นิสิตใหม่ทุกคนรวมทั้งสามารถสนับสนุนนิสิตปัจจุบันและบุคลากรบางส่วนให้มีจักรยาน
สีขาวใช้สืบสานวัฒนธรรมและเอกลักษณ์ของวิทยาเขตและมหาวิทยาลัยให้ยั่งยืนต่อไป

Kasetsart University has a policy to encourage students and staff to use bicycles as a means to travel
within the University and to have an awareness of environmental conservation. The policy also created a unique
characteristic of Kasetsart University, which has long been maintained. In the academic year 2000,
Chalermphrakiat Sakon Nakhon Province Campus initiated The KU White Bike Project under the white bike
fund. Financially supported by Kasetsart University, the people of Sakonnakhon, alumni and kind-hearted
individuals, the fund has provided students with white bicycles and in the process making them a campus
tradition. In the academic year 2009, Kasetsart University launched KU Green Campus and Healthy
Community Bike Project, financially co-supported by SVITA Foundation to provide bicycles to every campus
according to necessity. For Chalermphrakiat Sakon Nakhon Province Campus, 1,000 bicycles were provided,
which were sufficient for all freshmen and enables current students and some officials to sustainably maintain
the white bike tradition and identity of the campus.
